Kitchen
Situation
Like many families, this particular client purchased a family home in the downtown area that needed a lot of work. The kitchen is often one of the most expensive areas to renovate, but also one of the most popular rooms within a home, making it a great investment at the end of the day! The original kitchen was lacking in space, functionality and was in desperate need of a modern touch. The team at Jackson & Associates knew exactly how to get this job done!
Solution
The deteriorating kitchen had a lot of structural problems. Jackson & Associates suggested a complete re-build and were excited to provide their client with a new addition including a glass wall and operable doors leading out to a new deck and renovated backyard! Due to mature trees which caused the backyard to be quite shady throughout the day, very little sunlight was able to penetrate through the original windows of the kitchen. To accommodate their sun-loving clients, Jackson & Associates built skylights above the glass wall and added a lot of artificial lighting. New dark maple hardwood floors with matching kitchen cupboards and counter tops (including upper cupboards suspended from the ceiling) grace this new, updated kitchen.
Results
Our client is a proud and happy homeowner and continues to call upon Jackson & Associates for all their home renovation needs. The added space in the kitchen has allowed our clients to spend more quality time together as a family while enjoying the natural sunlight that boasts throughout the room.
Living Room
Situation
Our client loved their home, but hated their living room! Residing in a trendy row townhouse within a downtown area, our client wanted to express their unique taste and style, but wasn’t sure where to start. After calling and explaining that their living room had a lack of shelving, out-dated flooring and a lack of focal point, our client expressed a desire to create an updated look within a timely fashion. Their living room was the most commonly used area in their home, and we had to act fast!
Solution
Jackson & Associates opted for a simple facelift which would create an entirely new and modern look in a timely fashion. New railings along the staircase replaced the old ones which led from the living room to the upstairs of the home. Book shelves were built under the stairs to accommodate the lack of shelving our clients complained about. The lack of focal point was solved by building a beautiful mantel piece in the center of one wall and installing a gas fireplace. The finishing touch was a beautiful, light maple floor which was installed throughout the living room.

Our client loves their new living room! Utilizing the empty space under the stairs allowed for even more room to store things and the style of their new room reflects their personality. Our goal is always to create homes and spaces you will love to live in!
Landscaping
Situation
After completing a large-scale home renovation project with this particular client, we knew their backyard needed some work. A family who loves the outdoors and sunlight, our client felt as though they were unable to comfortably use their backyard due to the abundance of grass and plant maintenance. Our clients asked Jackson & Associates to help them create an outdoor living space they could enjoy throughout the spring, summer and fall months.
Solution
The rear addition off the kitchen allowed for this backyard renovation to fit together perfectly. The main goal was to bring the backyard into the dining room year round. The skylights and glass wall with operable doors allowed sunshine into the home, brightened up the back of the house and drew visitors and family members into the backyard. The new stone patio and wood deck was built in order to allow our clients a typically maintenance-free backyard.
